Lab Introduction
While the Taiwan Instrumentation Detector and Consortium (TIDC) is formed, we propose to setup a Core Facility model and a follow-up plan in the coming years. TIDC will invite more high energy experimental groups in Taiwan and construct a large mass for detector R&D. TIDC will become a hub to exchange expertise and organize shared tasks among groups. This way, we share technologies and resources including the particle detector and computing to achieve maximum efficiency. TIDC has welcomed two new projects associated with RHIC at BNL and will continue working on the LHC phase 2 upgrade. TIDC will build its reputation and visibility through these projects. We hope TIDC can attract more projects and have those detectors built in Taiwan.
