Forms of Int'l Cooperation : Joint Research Project, Personnel Exchange, Student Exchange, Equipment Share, Seminar, Joint Patent Application
Lab Introduction
Our research team aims to investigate the toxic effects of food and environmental contaminants in organisms under different exposure scenarios and further analyze the underlying molecular mechanisms. In addition, we aim to evaluate the potential of natural substances in improving the resistance and regulation of organisms against these toxicants, either by preventing or protecting them from their adverse effects. We use the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans as an in vivo model organism in our study to investigate the toxicological mechanisms of these toxicants. This model organism offers many advantages, including its high evolutionary conservation to mammals, ease of culturing in large numbers in the lab, rapid growth with a short lifespan, efficient observation of various biological indicators and conduction of experimental design, and the availability of abundant molecular and genomic tools and resources.
