Lab Introduction
The Aerosol Research Laboratory at EOHS is located within the School of Public Health at National Taiwan University. Since its founding in 1993 by Prof. Chi-Chieh Chen, the primary research conducted in this laboratory has been aimed at identifying, evaluating, and controlling aerosol particles that may cause health-related problems. We are skilled in the generation and measurement of aerosols. With the help of advanced instrumentation, we can generate and measure aerosol particles ranging in size from 2 nm to 20 µm, which involves many practical problems. Previous and current research topics include engineering control of respiratory infectious diseases, air filtration, lung deposition, aerosol therapy, aerosol emissions and monitoring, respiratory protection, and aerosol instrument development. In addition to research, we provide opportunities for students to gain a basic understanding of the properties and behavior of aerosols.
