Lab General Information:

Lab Supervisor: Dr. Shu-Chen Hsieh

Research Area: Genetic Engineering, Chemical Analysis, Bioactivity Verification, and Big Data.

Lab Supervisor Intro:
Dr. Shu-Chen Hsieh is a Professor at the Institute of Food Science and Technology, National Taiwan University (NTUFST). Being passionate about education, she not only offers academic counseling during her office hours but is also keen to provide personal counseling to many students at NTUFST.
To acknowledge her efforts, Dr. Hsieh was honorably granted the "Outstanding Teacher's Award" by the university.

Lab Introduction:
The research strategies in our lab include the manipulation of bacterial DNA, isolation of pure compounds from foods, activity screening by cell platforms, activity confirmation in rodent models, and mechanistic study in cell models. The current food materials under investigation are Chinese olive (Canarium album), adlay or coix seed (Coix lachryma-jobi), Antrodia cinnamomea, soy isoflavone genistein, and big data modeling.
