Lab Introduction
Our lab focuses on pediatric congenital and viral liver diseases, pediatric-onset inflammatory bowel diseases, and gastrointestinal motility diseases in children
- Our lab followed a unique chronic HBV cohort from children to adulthood. We investigated the natural course, viral-host interaction, biomarkers for disease prediction, efficacy of vaccination, and antiviral therapy in children.
- We followed congenital hepatobiliary diseases in our institute. We aimed to develop a new screening program, diagnostic tools, a method to assess the progression of liver fibrosis, and management plans.
- We applied the MDT model for the diagnosis and management of pediatric IBD patients. We cooperate with the German lab for the investigation of immune and genetic signatures of VEO-IBD. We also apply non-invasive intestinal ultrasound for the diagnosis and follow-up of pediatric IBD. TDM and nutrition care are also applied in the care model to optimize the treatment responses in our institute.
- Our lab also offers a comprehensive gastrointestinal motility study, biofeedback system, and pelvic floor rehabilitation program for children.
