Lab Introduction
The Laboratory of immunologic skin diseases and cutaneous adverse drug reactions at the National Taiwan University focuses on severe inflammatory skin diseases and cutaneous adverse drug reactions. Our research integrates international clinical trials, real-world multinational data, and biomarker analyses to advance therapeutic strategies for atopic dermatitis (AD), urticaria, severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs), and autoimmune blistering diseases. Building upon global collaborations, we investigate the long-term, real-world efficacy and safety of emerging therapies for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis and other inflammatory skin disorders. Our studies have helped establish the effectiveness of these treatments across diverse populations. In parallel, we are developing innovative approaches for non-invasive assessment of the skin barrier. In addition to our work on inflammatory skin diseases, our laboratory is dedicated to studying adverse drug reactions, with a particular focus on oncologic dermatologic disorders and severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions. Our recent publications include the development and validation of novel prognostic models using inflammatory biomarkers to predict disease severity and clinical outcomes in SCARs. Ongoing research in our laboratory continues to explore the pathogenesis and treatment outcomes of inflammatory skin diseases and cutaneous adverse drug reactions.
