Lab Introduction
The “Energy × Economics × Environment Research Center” (E3 Research Center) at National Taiwan University, founded by Dr. I-Yun Lisa Hsieh, is dedicated to promoting the decarbonization and intelligent transformation of energy systems. With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary integration, the Center leverages scientific methodologies and data-driven analysis to propose feasible policy and technological solutions for sustainable energy transition challenges in Taiwan and around the world. The E3 Center’s research areas include smart grids, AI-based energy management, energy economics, sustainable mobility, and carbon pricing—all aimed at building a just and sustainable energy future. The Center also places strong emphasis on education, fostering the next generation of T-shaped professionals and sustainability leaders through innovative course modules and cross-disciplinary learning. In parallel, the E3 Center actively engages the public by sharing fact-based knowledge through media articles, social platforms, and publications. Ultimately, the E3 Center aims to serve as a vital bridge between academia, industry, and government—fostering social consensus on climate action and accelerating meaningful progress toward net-zero goals.
