Lab Introduction
The CJ research group focuses on developing advanced semiconductors and nanomaterials for application in solar flow batteries (SFBs) and electrocatalytic technologies, aiming to achieve efficient renewable energy conversion and storage. Compared to conventional energy storage devices, SFBs significantly enhance solar-to-output electricity efficiency (SOEE) by precisely matching the operating potentials of the photoelectrode and electrolyte. In the field of electrocatalysis, the CJ group is dedicated to advancing the CO 2 reduction reaction (CO 2 RR) and exploring high-value anodic reactions to replace the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), which offers limited economic benefit. This
strategy improves overall energy efficiency and expands the practical value of the electrochemical system. Additionally, the group employs in-situ synchrotron spectroscopy to elucidate reaction mechanisms and identify the causes of catalyst deactivation, enabling the rational design of efficient and stable nanostructured electrode materials.
