Lab Introduction

Due to the world is increasingly threatened by the globalization of risks and its impact, the research programs and projects at RSPRC have emphasized the accumulation of long-term research in four core areas as follows: (1) establishing consensus-based sustainable energy and social transformation in Taiwan, (2) controlling carbon and pollution in Taiwan’s industrial and energy sector, (3) developing policies and regulations to drive Taiwan’s energy transformation, and (4) building a database for Taiwan’s basic energy transformation. In the past two years, in response to international trends and Taiwan’s net-zero transition pathway, the Center’s research projects have focused on two following  areas: (1) Net Zero Carbon Emission Society in Taiwan: Policy Mixes and Governance; and (2) Studies on Climate Change Risk Assessment for Business. The Center also has set three primary goals: (1) the development of cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral communication platforms, (2) a commitment to developing the center as a global academic hub and Taiwan's think tank and (3) the promotion of social change and innovation. The missions of the Center are building bridges between academia and the wider population, producing publications to affect social change, inculcating and encouraging the foundational research of society, aligning the academia of Taiwan with international standards, sharing of research resources to improve  overall research quality, inspiring others from all segments of society to invest their time and energies to also educate others about social policy research, so that together we can create social change and strengthen risk communication, and to bring Taiwan towards a brighter future that we can all look forward to.
